Phase 3 of R&R Rat Race at The Witch Hazel School

The Scene: night, skeletal pieces of driftwood, small fragments of friendship washed up on the beach of late capitalist dystopia. A few small creatures are stirring in the phosphorescence and the jellyfish decay. Are they friendly? Are they of this world?

– All characters are based on real people but their names have not been changed to protect the innocent.

– Accompanying sounds will be created using amplified contracts, canned migration and organic folé.

APReshot3 (1)

I love this new piece we’ve written, said Julia. But I think it should be faster. How can we make it faster? Asked Fritz. Let’s put it on wheels, said Julia. Will it be able to go around corners? Asked Liene? Yes, said Neil.

Fast forward to April 2016 >>>>>

It’s Called Discharge

The New Performance by Asparagus Piss Raindrop for 6+ Roller Skaters and amplified Roller Rink. Semi conductor life lines of symmetry exceed centrifugal life boat love ins. Kind of Like the moment you noticed that Cole from Sunset Beach was in But I’m a Cheerleader but louder, faster, longer and with a flashback corner. But seriously: afforded the use of the Roller Stop Roller Disco for crypto conceptual science fiction anti climax music we will continue to push beyond all reasonable limits what live music performance can be. Now and forever.

Free after show skate taster &/or free skate hire throughout the festival for attendees.

Infestation at Transmission October – November 2014

APR transmo poster colour edit

Transmission have invited Asparagus Piss Raindrop to infest their gallery in Glasgow for a period of five weeks from mid October through to late November. This period of work marks the beginning of a year long development for the group where we will build a portfolio of new work for international and local performance in 2015. APR methodology is properly collaborative and pushes composition into new realms and forms. APR composition draws on anthropology, contingency, autonomous (and/or corruptible) spaces, ritual, forms borrowed from the animal queendom, arcane games, Miss Spent Youth, abduction cults, group behaviour turned in on itself and (the) beyond.

1st November: Shit Bingo Excursions in the Shade of Orthoclase: where provisional ‘raw materials of antiquity’ will be performed. Part 1 runs from 4 – 6pm. Part 2 runs from 7pm and features APR offshoot Yoke of Blood.

8th November: large scale modular group activity with (in)appropriate formalities

15th November: performance of further work arising out of weeks 3 and 4 of the residency; an installation / symposium / performance / séance.

Asparagus Piss Raindrop were commissioned to perform new work at Tectonics Iceland  in April 2014. Trans Poncho In Posse is a three hour collaborative composition built around slug reproduction that fused synthetically the performers with the asophogeal node points of Harpa concert hall; choking the building in an erotic tour de farce. The performers on this occasion were Neil Davidson, Julia Scott, Fritz Welch, Sigtryggur Berg Sigmarsson & Michael Duch. This project is supported by Creative Scotland.

What’s your favourite lounge singer; do they make a virtue of their bodily fluids?
